I started CJW Bookkeeping Services to help others management their business efficiently by extracting my 33 years of experience in the Small Business Industry.
In 1989, I moved from Ottawa to join my parents to help run the family business. Over the 15 years, I worked up through the ranks to Co-Owner.
In 2005, I left the business to pursue the start up of my own business which over the 2 years was a challenging one but very educational with the introduction to computerized accounting. Unfortunately, the business went into a negative outcome.
To “jump back on the band wagon”, I joined my brother in the operation of his business and over the 5-year period assisted in building customer count and sales.
In 2012, I left to begin my own business as contract Office Manager and Bookkeeper for a family owned business in the food industry. I worked closely with the company accountant during this time frame which provided training in full cycle accounting, financial statements, including payroll with ROE and T4 production. As a contractor it was important to maintain my own set of books and switched from Sage50 desktop to QuickBooks Online.
I took on two part time clients: one in the property management industry and the other in the farming industry using QuickBooks Online.
To gain additional experience with QuickBooks, I took a contract position as Office Manager and Bookkeeper with a family owned manufacturing company. I became more proficient in QuickBooks using the program daily to provide an accurate cashflow projection. I also gained exposure in the use of EFTs and Wire Transfers.
CJW Bookkeeping not only provides bookkeeping services but also can assist with business management planning.
